Rococo, The Red Dolly, and Wine and Roses Victorian Tights Preorder!

We are now taking orders until March 22 for three new designs:  "Rococo", "The Red Dolly" and "Wine and Roses".  Ship date for these designs is April 8, 2013.   "Rococo" features portraits of lovely 18th Century ladies over a lush background of golden scroll work and french blue. "The Red Dolly" is a lovely blend of elegance and cuteness.  In delicious reds and pinks, it is definitely sugary sweet yet still very Victorian.  "Wine and Roses" features intoxicating wine colored roses and deep emerald tones.  This beautiful print is both bold and very enticing.

From Savannah, GA

I have lived in Savannah most of my life. I have always appreciated its beauty. Growing up here, I knew many who were eager to leave and seek out a new life elsewhere. I just never had that itch. I do love to travel and experience new places. Savannah will always be "home base" to me. For me, the combination of history, elegance, artistic influence is perfection. I went to college here and picked up an Architecture degree (which was terribly underused due to my discovery that I was more in love with old buildings than I was with creating new ones). I managed to get a graduate degree in historic preservation which did salvage my education for use in a field that I would actually go on to practice for some years. Like this city, my interests are an eclectic mix of the artistic, the elegant, and the historic. I design and sew historically themed clothing, I have overseen building restorations, and I have sold historically inspired furnishings. If it is lovely and is or looks old, I want it.  I'll share little (sometimes a lot) of what I love on this blog.

I will start at the beginning for me, architecture.

Below are a few of my favorite buildings and places here in Savannah.
The Cathedral of Saint John The Baptist.  Takes my breath away every time a see it.

The Sapphire Grill and the Famous Lady and Sons Restaurant.   Lady and Sons is every bit as good and you may have heard.

The Pink House Restaurant.  I have actually never been here.  Not sure why, just has not happened yet.  Many say it is very good.  I like the building.  The design is of course lovely but to be honest I love it the most because it is pink.

This lovely lady is located at the entrance of Bonaventure Cemetery.  Bonaventure is one of those places that always makes me feel like I am walking in a dream.

The Hamilton-Turner House.  I have loved this house from the moment that I laid eyes on it.  It is one the few in Savannah with a mansard roof.  It is used an inn now.
